Dear students,
This has been a very difficult week for our community. The encampment has left people with strong feelings about a range of issues, and I have heard from and spoken with some of you who are in pain, and who are feeling unheard or misunderstood.
The conversations that I have been able to have with many of you have confirmed my deeply held belief that talking with and listening to one another—even, or especially, when deep differences divide us—makes our community stronger. With that belief in mind, I am scheduling additional open office hours over the next several weeks.
